3 Reasons Most Silicone Rings Suck
1. They sweat like crazy! Not that you’d ever do something so bizarre, but imagine wearing a tight rubber shirt on a hot day. Yep, you’d be hot, sweaty and unbelievably uncomfortable, to say the least. So why do that to your poor finger?
Silicone is nonporous and wearing it tightly against the skin will cause it to sweat. If the ring is not removed regularly your finger will start to prune, skin will begin TURN WHITE and, eventually, your finger could get infected - no bueno!
2. They are bulky and uncomfortable!
Active rings were created for people who, whether at work or play, tend to live life on the edge, so wearing a bulky ring is just asking for trouble. Typical silicone rings are too bulky and catch on everything, not to mention their tendency to rub adjacent fingers raw.
3. TERRIBLE Warranty: Although it seems counterintuitive, a silicone ring’s most important job is to break (only in compromising situations, of course). Whether you’re doing pull ups or climbing a ladder, silicone rings are made to stretch or break to protect your finger if something goes wrong. And we all know that if you do one thing long enough, something will inevitably go wrong!
However, most silicone brands don't offer any type of extended warranty for rings WHOSE PURPOSE IT IS TO BREAK! Why would you buy a ring that you know will be unwearable someday without a lifetime warranty?
Have You Had These Problems?
Problems Solved
These are the issues that weren’t sitting well with Alaskan bush pilot and adventure lodge owner, Peter Goodwin, when he resolved to change things and began working to devise some real solutions:
"When active rings first came out, I loved the idea! I hadn’t imagined ever owning a band that would be able to handle my lifestyle, so I ordered one right away. . . and then another brand . . . and then another brand.
After trying them all, I found that NO ring on the market was actually functional for me. I knew I couldn’t be the only one, so I went to the drawing board and tackled each issue separately.”
WHAT MAKES GROOVE RING DIFFERENT
1. Groove is BREATHABLE: Groove is designed with these little inner grooves that allow the ring to breathe, and they really work! No more sweaty finger.
2. Low Profile: Groove lowered ring profiles, making them gracefully sleek, not bulky or irritating to adjacent fingers.
3. UNLIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY: Groove wanted to offer a warranty that they could actually be proud of.
"Here in Alaska we are pretty hard on equipment and we love lifetime warranties. This is why we decided to offer an UNLIMITED Lifetime Warranty for Groove Ring. If you break it, stretch it or EVEN LOSE IT we will replace it forever.
We know its a crazy offer but we are proud of it! We aren't trying to get rich, we just want to make great products that we are proud to stand behind," Peter exclaims.
GROOVE IS MORE THAN A RING
"We have seen that many people buy multiple rings. The rings have become a statement of sorts for them. Some where them as a their commitment to marriage but many wear them as reminder to themselves and a statement to the world that they are committed to their mission and goals!" Peter states.
"It's been fun to see the evolution of the product from something functional to a lifestyle statement for people." Peter adds.
Says Peter, "We wanted to lower the barrier of sizing and this really helps. Most people are super pleased they don't have to send their ring back before they try a new size. Again, we based Groove’s customer service policies on how we would most like to be treated by a company."

Warranty and Exchanges
Not What I Expected
I'll start by saying that this ring wasn't exactly what I expected. I was expecting something harder with a rubber like exterior. That being said, I think this was better because it moves with you when you are working out. I thought it ran just a little small, but I kept the size. I like that when I take my wedding band off at the gym, I have the groove ring case to put it in instead of loose in my bag, and then the groove ring is a good reminder to put the platinum wedding band back on before it gets lost. Overall I'm very happy with it. Love the gray. Lindsey Gray - Nashville
Great ring but even better customer service!
"I love the inner grooves on the rings, which allow for some airflow (in comparison to other brands such as Qalo or Enzo), and I've also appreciated Groove's customer service. I'm in between a size 8 and size 9, and ordered a size 8 per the site's sizing recommendations. It felt a bit snug when it arrived, so I requested a size 9 instead to test out. I ended up sticking with a size 8, as it will stretch out some, and love the team's flexibility and desire to make sure that their product works for their customers. I'll be ordering another ring in the not-too-distant future, and look forward to new colors, too!" John Wilson - Colorado
