Apple Watch Bands are interchangeable, to a certain extent. In this article, we’ll fill you in on the details of which watch straps are interchangeable, how to change your Apple Watch Band, and what to look for in 3rd party watch bands.

Will any Apple Watch Band fit?

While Apple Watch Bands are not technically a one-size-fits-all, their sizing system is simple.

You have three technical options when choosing an Apple Watch Band: watch face size, band length, and hardware color.

1. Watch Face Size

This is the option that is most relevant to the question ‘will any Apple Watch Band fit?” because Apple Watches come with different face sizes and the bands are created to match the face.

2. Band Length

This option is available in a variety of lengths depending on your source for bands for your Apple Watch. Groove Life Bands come in short and long lengths so there is an option for everyone.

3. Hardware Color

This option is simple. All you have to do is match the color of your watch hardware - silver, rose/gold, or space grey - to your watch color.

How to figure out if your watch is compatible with a band.

It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is remember the size of the watch face that you purchased and check to make sure your band is compatible with that size.

We’ll make it easy for you.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 1, 2 or 3, your watch comes in size 38mm(smaller) and 42mm (bigger).

If you have an Apple Watch Series 4, 5, or 6, your watch comes in 40mm(smaller) and 44mm(bigger).

38mm and 40mm watch bands are compatible.

42mm and 44mm watch bands are compatible.

It’s easy-peasy!

Are watch bands universal?

If you’re wondering, “Will an Apple Watch Band fit a Fitbit or Samsung?” the answer is no. But if you’re looking for watch bands for Apple, Samsung, or Fitbit devices, you can find breathable, comfortable options here.

What to look for in a 3rd party watch band?

Apple Watches are awesome! Apple Watch Bands? Not so much.

They stick to your skin causing rashes and the color options are average. You’re probably looking for something a little more exciting and comfortable.

If you’re considering a 3rd party watch band, you’re thinking outside the box and we think that rocks! But, you need to make sure this new band won’t cause an adverse reaction to your skin. Here are the three things to look for in 3rd party Apple Watch Bands.

1. Quality Material

If you grab a cheap, flimsy band, you run the risk of getting an allergic reaction from low-quality materials like plastic or rubber. Look for watch bands that are created out of quality material like medical-grade silicone which is hypoallergenic.

2. Breathability

Even if a watch band is made out of medical-grade silicone, that flat strap sticks to your skin like a wet band-aid and will likely cause sweat rashes. You’ll want to find a band that is breathable, allowing air to flow over your skin.

3. Warranty

If you’re paying the big bucks for a quality, well-made watch band, it had better come with a good warranty

Do quality watch bands even exist?

They sure do! We were so fed up with sweat rashes and stinky wrists that we put on inventor hats and designed a watch band that feels good and looks amazing. Groove Life Watch Bands come with breathable technology that incorporates inner grooves to allow air in and moisture out, as well as a comfort arch that reduces skin contact.

Check out this video to see how it works.

Now that you know which watch bands are compatible, why not grab yourself a leopard print watch band to match your shoes, or a leather Apple Watch Band that won’t break the bank? Check out all of the options here.
